Synopsis

Age is just a number when it comes to being a BL fan! 75-year-old widow Yuki (Nobuko Miyamoto) picks up a boys’ love manga one day and it opens her eyes to a new world. At the bookstore, she meets shy 17-year-old schoolgirl Urara (Mana Ashida) who reads BL on the sly. Happily reading and discussing BL together, they forge a congenial bond that heals loneliness and unlocks their inner hopes and fears. Seasoned TV director Shunsuke Kariyama (Love’s in Sight) and screenwriter Yoshikazu Okada (The 8-Year Engagement) adapt Kaori Tsurutani’s award-winning manga into a heartwarming, female-centric human drama about an unlikely friendship that inspires comfort and change.
