As he nears the end of his mandatory ten-year military service, North Korean sergeant Lim Kyu-nam is determined to defect to the South for a new life. His perilous bid to cross the DMZ is complicated by two variables: a fellow soldier who wants to join him, and a relentless field officer who will stop at nothing to thwart his escape.
