For years, we’ve been told of the great economic developments that Chinese investment has brought to African nations. This nuanced, eye-opening documentary looks beyond press releases and economic data to show the human side of the story. Shot over four years with unprecedented access, the film follows three women - a Chinese factory director, a factory worker and a local farmer - at a new Chinese industrial park located in an Ethiopian farming town. Will their journeys reveal the economic partnership to be the win-win situation that the headlines promote? Or is it a case of all that glitters is not gold?
