Synopsis
An extravagant wedding in a wealthy suburb of Mexico City descends into chaos after it is gatecrashed by a band of bloodthirsty rebels. The young bride escapes the carnage, only to find herself held prisoner by the new and violent regime. Franco’s nightmarish vision of a near-future dystopia is all-the-more shocking because of how realistic it is portrayed and how quickly a seemingly worry-free idyll can be shattered by the greedy, self-serving actions of those hungry for power.
