Synopsis
Cronenberg continues to examine the connection between creative endeavours and physical transformation, between “inner beauty” and catastrophes of our own making. Slicing open his characters with clinical detachment, the surgeon general of body horror stages operations as performance, removing mysterious new organs that have grown inside an artist’s body.
