DUINO follows Argentinian filmmaker Matías (Juan Pablo di Pace, THE MATTACHINE FAMILY-HKLGFF 2023) as he struggles to complete a film about his unrequited first love. Decades after attending an international school on Italy’s Adriatic Coast, Matías receives an unexpected invitation to revisit his past. As he reconstructs his memories, he is transported back to his university years, vividly recalling his passionate connection with a group of classmates, particularly the captivating Swedish rebel-prince, Alexander. Navigating the energy and promise of youth, Matías’ decade-long yearning for the elusive lover both inspires and haunts him as he seeks to give his story a new ending.
