Synopsis
In the summer of 1990, childhood friends Maren, Robert, and Volker discover millions of unused GDR marks in an old mine shaft. They start smuggling rucksacks full of money and, along with their friends and neighbors, create an ingenious system to exchange the worthless cash for goods, outsmarting the influx of Westerners and their capitalist ways. This clever scheme turns their summer into a grand adventure. Inspired by actual events, this heartfelt comedy about love and friendship pays tribute to a unique time when anything seemed possible.
