Nope(bc X HKU Film Club)

In ‘Nope’, siblings OJ and Em are down-on-their-luck horse wranglers from a remote California ranch trying to find their way back into the movie industry their family helped to create. But first, they first have to deal with a mysterious predator that lingers over them.

‘Get Out’ director Jordan Peele continues to expand the scope of his vision, this time with an homage to classic Hollywood science-fiction films and Westerns full of wide-open vistas and mythological showdowns.

‘Nope’ is a selection of the bc X HKU Film Club, a joint programme bringing together Cinematheque audiences and University of Hong Kong Masters-degree students in Literary and Cultural Studies. Film Club screenings are followed by discussions facilitated by filmmaker Kate Reilly. Those conversations are open to all audience members and take place in the 1/F foyer.
